There are only four microfinance organizations that are currently licensed and monitored by the Central Bank under the Micro Finance Deposit-Taking Institutions Act, 2003. Under this Act, FINCA Uganda (MDI) Limited, Pride Microfinance MDI Limited, Uganda Finance Trust Limited and Uganda Microfinance Limited, are the only institutions monitored by the bank.
